Bugz Playpark, nestled in Joostenbergvlakte, Kraaifontein, proudly holds the title of the largest indoor and outdoor playpark in the Western Cape. It’s a fantastic spot for kids aged 3 to 12, packed with a wide range of activities. With over 25 attractions to explore, kids can enjoy jungle gyms, treehouses, mud kitchens, splash zones, sandpits, and soft play areas. On weekends, school holidays, and public holidays (weather permitting), there are exciting rides like the Choo Choo Train, swing horses, worm train, pedal karts, rowing boats, and waterslides.
Here’s a quick look at the admission fees:
– Children aged 3–12: R190 each, which includes unlimited rides.
– Kids under 3: Free entry (they can’t ride but can access various play areas).
– Adults and teens (13+): R60, which covers access to the Choo Choo Train and swing horses.
– Pensioners: R45.
– If it rains and rides are closed, there’s a rainy day fee of R100 per child.
– For those interested in the petting farm, there’s an extra R25 charge per person, and it’s open depending on the weather.
Bugz Playpark is open from 10:00 to 16:00 on weekends, school holidays, and public holidays. Just a heads up, the park is closed on weekdays outside these times, as well as on December 25 and January 1.
If you’re planning a birthday party, Bugz has themed packages starting at R249 per child, with a minimum of six kids required. A R1000 deposit will secure your booking, and the remaining balance is due on the party day. You can bring in the birthday cake, but all other food and drinks must be bought on-site. Parents and grandparents of the birthday child get in for free, while other adults will need to pay the standard entry fee.
Keep in mind that outside food and drinks aren’t allowed in the park, except for baby food and water (up to 1.5L per person). There’s a takeaway shop and a licensed restaurant available for meals and snacks.
