About 15 Day South Africa Holiday Package

The first 8 days follow the Cape Town + Garden Route sequence: city, Table Mountain, Cape Peninsula, Winelands, whales or shark cage diving, then east through Wilderness, Knysna, Plett and Tsitsikamma. Comfortable, unhurried, one Wanderer guide.

Day 9 extends the Garden Route east into the Eastern Cape. Addo Elephant National Park is one of South Africa's finest national parks — over 600 free-ranging elephants, plus lion, buffalo, black rhino, leopard and the offshore Big Two (great white shark and southern right whale). Two nights at Addo, morning and afternoon game drives, and a chance to see the density of wildlife that only a proper national park delivers.

From Day 11, you either fly from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg for a 3-night Sabi Sand Big Five safari (our recommendation for guests with the appetite for the flagship African safari experience), or you continue with Wanderer back through the Karoo. The Sabi Sand is one of the world's great wildlife destinations — private-concession game drives, off-road tracking, luxurious lodges. See our safari page for detail.

The final 2 days return to Cape Town for a leisure day and departure, or fly you home direct from Johannesburg — depending on your flights. Wanderer coordinates the internal flights, the lodge bookings and every detail.

This is a substantial trip and needs some booking notice — 4–6 months for peak season, 2–3 for shoulder. Sabi Sand lodges book earliest.

Do we fly to the safari?

Yes — Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg (or straight into a Sabi Sand airstrip). Wanderer coordinates the flight and the lodge transfer.

Is Sabi Sand better than Addo?

Different — not better. Sabi Sand has world-class lodges, off-road tracking, and the flagship Big Five experience. Addo is South Africa's finest national park, superb elephant sightings, no malaria, and much cheaper. Doing both is our recommendation.

Which Sabi Sand lodge?

Is there malaria?

Yes — some guests use the 15-day for a much slower Cape + Garden Route + Addo + return leg. Wanderer builds the shape you want.

Is this good for families?

Yes — with the right lodge. Some Sabi Sand lodges have age minimums for game drives (usually 6 or 12). We recommend family-friendly lodges when needed.

How is pricing calculated?
