Overview

About 8 Day Cape Town Holiday Package

The first five days follow our 5-day package: City & Table Mountain, Cape Peninsula, Winelands, a specialist day (whales / safari / heli), and a day at leisure. Days 6–7 are the difference-makers.

One of the most popular shapes is a 2-night safari overnight — Aquila or Inverdoorn (2.5 hours from Cape Town) or Gondwana on the Garden Route (4 hours) — with morning and evening game drives, one night at the lodge, and back in Cape Town for a final day. See our safari page for detail. Another shape is a Garden Route taste: a 2-day trip to Hermanus and Gansbaai with a shark cage dive or a longer whale-watching day.

For families, an 8-day shape often adds specific kids-focused days: a Kirstenbosch garden morning, an Aquila 1-day family safari (Big Five in a day, feasible from Cape Town), a beach day at Muizenberg or Camps Bay with surf lessons, or a Two Oceans Aquarium morning.

For food-focused couples, an 8-day shape can add a chocolate-and-wine pairing day at Waterford, a Franschhoek-only day dedicated to MCC and fine dining, a Groot Constantia and Kalk Bay food day, or a private chef evening in a villa.

Every day is private and chauffeured. Your Mercedes-Benz and Wanderer guide are yours for the eight days. Restaurant reservations, cable-car tickets, safari lodge, whale boat and Winelands estates all pre-booked. Airport transfers both ends included.

Pricing is by vehicle for the touring and by lodge/hotel for accommodation. Priced per group not per person — very good value at 4+ guests. Get in touch with your rough dates and we'll build a customised itinerary and quote.

Frequently asked

Questions about 8 Day Cape Town Holiday Package

Why 8 days over 5?

You gain a proper safari overnight and either a full whale-watching day or a coastal add-on, plus a slower arrival day for jet lag. It's the shape most first-timers wish they'd booked.

Which safari lodge?

Aquila and Inverdoorn (Karoo, 2.5 hours) work well for Big Five in a short overnight. Gondwana (Garden Route, 4 hours) is more scenic. Choice depends on dates and priorities.

Can we do more days on safari?

Yes — see our 12- and 15-day packages which add a proper 3-night Sabi Sand or 3-day Garden Route safari.

Do children work well on this itinerary?

Yes — the pace suits families. We include child-friendly variants: Boulders penguins, Kirstenbosch, Aquila 1-day family safari, beach and surf lessons.

Is 8 days enough for the Garden Route?

Not really — for the full Garden Route you want 12+ days. This package includes a Cape Town-side coastal day (Hermanus / Gansbaai) but not the full Garden Route.

How is pricing calculated?

Vehicle + guide for the touring, plus lodges/hotels separately. Priced per group not per person on the touring.

When should we book?

3–4 months out for Dec/Jan. 6–8 weeks for shoulder season. Winter (May–Sep) often works with 3–4 weeks' notice.

What if weather affects safari?

Karoo and Garden Route lodges operate all year. Cape Town weather can force a re-sequence of city days; Wanderer manages this on the fly.

Can we swap the safari for more Cape Town?

Yes — the 8-day is fully customisable. Extra Cape Town, extra Winelands, or a food-and-art variant are all available.

Are meals included?

Meals are paid at each venue on the day. Safari lodges include all meals in their nightly rate.

Airport transfers?

Yes — included both ends. Private Mercedes-Benz.

How do I book?

Send your dates and interests via the enquiry form or WhatsApp — we reply within 48 hours with a customised proposal and quote.
